After the Collapse:
Marmolada
In summer 2026, I will work with a four-person undergraduate research team on the Marmolada Glacier for 28 days. Supported by a Royal Geographical Society Group Grant, the project examines how the glacier’s surface has evolved after collapse, and how morphology responds to changing thermal conditions.
By establishing a high-resolution 2026 baseline, we aim to trace relationships between ablation, microclimate and unstable terrain—building evidence that can support future hazard management and Alpine conservation.
Field team: Lucia Gu, Lian H, Mona He and Heart Vareekasem.
